Stage Payments

If the project duration exceeds seven (7) days, stage payments may be requested.

Scope of Work

The scope of work is strictly limited to the tasks outlined in the Quotation/Estimate. Please review the job description carefully, as only the listed tasks will be completed by MS Decorating Services.

 

Public Liability Insurance

• Coverage: £5 million.
• Provider: Simply Business.
• A certificate is available and will be provided with the quote.

 

Labour and Material Warranty

• MS Decorating guarantees all labour and materials for two (2) years.
• The guarantee applies only if the products used are purchased by MS Decorating or are recommended by us.
• In the event of paint failure, rectification labour and materials will be provided at no additional cost.
• This warranty takes precedence over all other expressed or implied warranties.
• Exclusions:
  • Consequential or incidental damages.
  • Damage caused by accidents, abuse, temperature fluctuations, discolouration, settlement, or moisture (e.g., cracks due to expansion/contraction).
  • Horizontal walking surfaces.
  • Cracks will be appropriately prepared but are not covered under this warranty.

 

Quality Assurance

• All work is performed to industry standards and in a professional manner.
• Workers remain on-site until the project is completed.
• The work site is cleaned daily, with a thorough cleanup at the end of the project.
• Uncontrollable factors, such as strikes or accidents, may impact the agreed schedule.

 

Quality Standard

• Surfaces will meet the criteria of a “properly painted surface” when viewed from a distance of five (5) feet under normal lighting conditions, as per British Standard BS 6150:2019.

 

Preparation and Cooperation

• Acknowledge job-specific details in advance.
• Select colours at least one (1) week before the project start date.
• Interiors of built-in wardrobes and cupboards are excluded unless explicitly specified.
• Fragile items and electronics must be removed before work begins.
• Alarms must be deactivated, or access codes provided during the project.
• Painted areas must be clean before the commencement of work.
• Wallpaper must be supplied by the customer unless otherwise arranged.
• Occupants are required to vacate the work area for the duration of the project.
• The standard quote includes white ceilings and woodwork, with a colour for walls unless otherwise stated.
• Customers must be present on the final working day for job sign-off and final payment.

Breach of Contract

In the event of a breach of this agreement by the client, MS Decorating Services reserves the right to terminate the contract immediately. Any payments made may be retained to cover losses, damages, or expenses incurred. Termination does not absolve the client of obligations, including outstanding payments or liabilities accrued prior to termination.

Changes to the Original Quotation/Estimate

• The proposal becomes binding upon approval.
• Any changes or additional work require written or verbal agreement and may incur extra costs.
• Start dates will be confirmed via email; delays may occur due to overruns, weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.
• Adjustments to the original quotation may result in additional charges.

Cost

• Pricing includes materials and labour as specified in the quotation.
• Additional tasks may require separate pricing.
• Prices are valid for fourteen (14) days unless otherwise stated.

Payment Terms

• A non-refundable booking fee of 20% is required upon acceptance of the quotation.
• The balance is payable upon satisfactory completion of the work.
• Outstanding invoices are due upon project completion unless agreed otherwise.
• Late payments incur a 3% charge over the bank base rate.

Payment Methods

• Payments can be made via cash or BACS (bank transfer).
